Band of Horses Sell-Out 9:30 Club.
Tue 7 Aug – Band of Horses, Love as Laughter, A Decent Animal
..And to good effect. Opening acts A Decent Animal and Love as Laughter were little more than background music as fans of BOH filled the floor. The lead for Love as Laughter was as stiff as a frozen trout. My advice, you have to at least act like you enjoy playing before anyone else is going to enjoy your music.
Now, Band of Horses was great. They were stoked to be playing at their first sold-out show of the tour, and this on a Tuesday night. Their debut Everything All the Time only runs for 37min, so it wasn’t any wonder they ran out of original material to play. They included a few songs from their upcoming release in October as well as some covers. Notable songs in their set were ’The Great Salt Lake’, ’Our Swords’, & an excellent performance of ’The Funeral’.
